What is MGO in Manuka honey?

New Zealand Manuka honey is produced by bees collecting nectar from the Manuka plant (Leptospermum scoparium). 

MGO stands for Methylglyoxal which is the organic compound responsible for Mauka honey's strong antibacterial properties. 

MGO ratings are determined by independent testing, the higher the number the more antibacterial properties that Manuka honey has.

Over the last couple of decades, scientists have tested Manuka honey against a wide variety of bacteria strains and found Manuka honey was effective in reducing almost all bacteria tested.

Manuka honey has been found to aid in wound healing and tissue regeneration by facilitating the body's natural ability to heal itself. 

Macadamia Nut (Macadamia Ternifolia) Oil

Macadamia Nut oil has the highest content of Palmitoleic acid of any plant. This acid is naturally present in the sebum of young people but decreases with age making Macadamia oil ideal for dry and mature skins.

The oil is easily absorbed by the skin and is therefore a great skin softener and mosituriser. It also contains high levels of Vitamin E.  Very safe to use on sensitive and babies skin.
